Another cool feature they have at Skewz is their media comparison chart. On this chart you can find all the news sources featured on Skewz and see how they stand on certain hot topics.

taggylicio.us is basically one large tag cloud of hundred of topics ranging from autumn to zoos and everything in between.

When you click on a certain tag you'll be brought to a page that has the latest pictures (from Flickr), videos, and news stories that match the tag you picked. So let's say you like games...if you were to click on games you would see all the latest news, pictures, and videos about games from the most popular social bookmarking sites.

Simple and incredibly informative...sweet.

Techmeme gathers news stories from across the web, and displays the most popular ones on their websites.

The thing that differeniates them from other news aggregators is that is focuses on the technology world. From blogs to social networks, you can always find the newest stories come out of Techmeme first.

The stories they post come from a variety of sources, even major newspapers like; the BBC and the Wall Street Journal. But most of it comes from the blogosphere.

There are tons of great stories on this website that I don't hear mentioned anywhere else, everyday. Definitely a great resource for all the tech buffs out there.

Imooty - European News Aggregator

If your from Europe (about 45% of you guys are) or just like keeping in touch with international news then Imooty might come in really handy.

Imooty searches all the top newspapers and news sources in Europe and displays the top stories on their front page in real time.

You'll never have to be left out of the loop on major European issues anymore, cause Imooty covers a broad range of topics.

If the general view isn't doing it for you, then you can always filter down the news by topics or country.

This seems like a pretty nifty site, and it's actually quite nice seeing what's going on...on the other side of the pond.

A cool new video site that's dedicated to politics.

People submit their favorite political videos from popular video sharing sites like YouTube, Google Video, DailyMotion, etc... Then people can view, rate, comment on those videos directly on the site.

It's great to see a site like this that brings together political videos from across the web because usually I have to get my political fixes from dozens of sites and blogs.

John Locker was just launched this week, but already there are some great videos to watch.

News Site - Thoof


Thoof

Thoof is another social bookmarking site where people add interesting news and articles that they find on the web.

What makes Thoof special in the realm of social bookmarking is that it is "very personal". Thoof remembers what articles you liked last time you were on, and shows you more stories and articles like that.

Another cool feature is the tag streams. You can add and remove tags until the news they deliver is exactly what your looking for. Let's say for example, that funny videos, internet, and gaming are you most favorite topics. You simply add those tags on the frontpage, then all the news and articles that Thoof delivers will have something to do with those tags.

New News Site - SparkMeter


SparkMeter


SparkMeter is a great new concept that grabs political stories from different sources and the users of the site pick if the story leans to the left (liberal) or the the right (conservative).

You can even pick news stories based on your political leaning. Lets say you are generally agree with more liberal ideals, all you need to do is click on "leaning left" to see all stories that have been rated as being liberal.

It's also nice to see what the other side is talking about in order to get a more comprehensive political outlook.

This is a brand new website, and they are still in the process of building a community to revolve around their concept. But this unique concept is sure to take off sooner or later.


New News Site - DailyMe


DailyMe


DailyMe is a great new website that can cover anyone news needs.

All you need to do is choose the news and the news sources from which you would like to receive news from. Then pick the times in which you would like to receive news, and then just sit back an enjoy all the news personalized just for you.

Another great feature is that you can print all the news in a printer friendly format. Instead of walking all the way to the doorstep for the print news, all you need to do now is walk to your printer.

DailyMe is currently in Beta, and is accepting selective members. Just write your e-mail on the front page and they might contact you with information on how to join. Or you can just wait until the launch the public version of their site in the near future.


News Site - Puzzr


PuzzR

The premise behind PuzzR is to make news a little more interesting. They decided to assign a color to different topics like; Health, Tech, Sports, and more.

When you click on one of those topics, the most popular and recent news from newspaper and news sources located all around the world.

If your still not satisfied after click on one of the general topics, you can see a "tag cloud" on top of each category. This "tag cloud" shows you the most searched subjects that day in each category.

Overall, PuzzR does a good job and delivering news in a new and less dreary some way. The only drawback is that there are no personalization methods in which to make the news a little more relevant to each person.


New Sites - Google Maps Mania, The Morning News, and GetJar

There were three new sites submitted into the ButterMouth database. They don't have anything to do with each other, but they all have great features.

Google Maps Mania

There are hundreds of sites on the internet that try to do cool things with Google Maps. This site, Google Maps Mania, lists some of the best examples of these type of sites. There are some pretty cool sites listed on this site. Definitely worth checking it out.

The Morning News

Not only does this site have "traditional" news listed on it's site. It has very unique and interesting short stories, advice columns, and how to articles.

GetJar

All the good things in life should be free, even cell phone programs. GetJar has thousands of programs you can put on any portable device, like; palms, cell phones, and other PDAs. These applications are quite diverse and include GPS Maps, Porno, Games, Word Processors, IM Software, and a lot more.
