Feds Shutdown Movie-Links.tv and TVShack.net!

.
10

UPDATE: Watch-Movies and TVShack have reappeared! They can be found at http://www.watch-movies-tv.info/ and http://TVShack.cc respectively.

Usually the beginning of July represents freedom, but sadly this year it will be remembered as the beginning of the end of net neutrality.

In a chilling decision by the Department of Justice and several other US government agencies, a warrant was obtained to seize domains of 7 internet movie websites, which effectively shuts them down.

The seven websites;
are now all shutdown and have only the following notice plastered on them.

The government agencies cited a MPAA figure that the US film industry losses $25.6 billion dollars a year to pirate websites. Obviously the figure is completely made up (the US film industry only made $10.6 billion in 2009), which makes it seem that the film industry needs to make up bogus stats and figures in order to file legal charges.

I can't explain how utterly upset I am at my country at this point. Sure, these websites provided movies for free, but do they really expect us to buy $20 tickets to go see movies? That is an underlying reason why so many streaming video website sprung up, and it isn't the fault of the people...but rather the film industry backing people into a corner with their monopoly over film distribution.

Sad panda =(

In the meantime, check out our list of the top 25 movie websites (which we'll update later today to reflect the recent changes).
