It all pretty much started when Apple first aired their iPod commercial back in 2005. Since then, music in commercials has become surprisingly...good. 2008 has been no exception. This year included some great commercials with some truly wonderful music.

An feel good Latin song featured in the McDonalds commercial that aired during the 2008 Summer Olympics. Not only was the song great, the commercial was probably one of the best commercials of the year.

A list of the best commercial songs really wouldn't be complete without an song from Apple. This song from the MacBook Air essentially launched Yael Naim's career. I could've featured at least 5 other songs from Apple...but I'm a PC. (Alright, Alright...here are 5 other great songs from Apple'e commercials; Perfect Timing (This Morning), You Me and the Bourgeoisie, Bruises, What I'm Looking For, Around the Bend).

Probably one of my favorite commercial songs of the year...and it didn't (really) even try to sell me anything!

Amos Lee - Sweet Pea [AT&T]
Although I think this commercial first aired somewhere around December of 2007, it was played enough in 2008 for me to include it in this list. Either way, it's a great "mellow" tune that fitted perfectly in the AT&T commercial.
Tim Myers - A Beautiful World [Target]
Another "feel good" song that was featured in Target commercials this year. Kinda makes me want to go out an buy some lawn chairs.
Joe Purdy - Can't Get It Right Today [KIA]
KIA makes their cars so fuel efficient that owners forget which side their gas tanks or on...or so this ad says. I do have to admit that this song was a perfect fit with the message they were trying to send.

The first 100 times I heard this song, I really really liked it. But after hearing it so many times on the TV, I just don't know if I can add this song to my MP3 player anymore.
